We would like to thank the participants, parents and instructors that attended the 5th Annual Sanchin Bushi Karate System Seminar held in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico at the old Ramey Air Force Base, PR.  This year we didn’t have the number of participants but we were able to cover more areas of training and a field trip around the Island beaches on the west coast of Puerto Rico, Roberto Gonzalez, Renshi was a great tour guide explaining many historical events.   We covered Basic Bo Kata instructed by Bill Solano, Meijin.  Basic Iaido Kata previously taught by Moises Colon Hanshi.  Kata of the year was Pinan Godan instructed by Troy Ah Yo, Renshi on basic movement and techniques within the Kata.    Joe Rodriguez, Kyoshi instructed the movement and proper moment of contact with a reverse punch, explaining different levels of contact and intensity.   Along with the training we had tournament competition:  MAA training and exhibition instructed by Angelo Melendez, Brazilian Jujitsu.  Kata, Bo, Iaido, technique and Kumite competition. The competition was very competitive; and the kumite was the best part of the whole weekend with a double elimination tournament with 1st point winning the fight.   F. Ramirez Jr.  Hanshi guided the seminar and held training on moving from one’s center to the center of the opponent.   A great event with a pot luck dinner at a recreation area was the completion of the event.
